ask - the school should be glad you have
Most schools want you to ask, so do ask. Although levels will prob range from W to 2. Ask about ability groupings, ask about EAL/statemented children. Ask about resources/TA available. Have differentiated work available for them at levels W - 2. Have extension work just in case.
Ideas - these need to be your own, only you know what you are comfortable doing and the school want to see what you can do. Make it fun and lively for the children but make sure they are learning at the same time. Choose your objective from the Framework and go from there.
If school won't tell you levels or ability groupings then think about a carousel of activities and differentiate by outcome.
Hope this helps and good luck - I had 6 years out before making a comeback!
