Hi, I'm new as a TA and working with a reception child with severe visual impairment and selective mutism. I'm not trained as an SEN and doing fine with adapting and recognising needs re the child's visual impairment but struggling with the selective mutism. I have read around and have some books on order. But it anyone could share their experiences that would be so much appreciated. I know it's anxiety based and takes time but it makes teaching phonics interesting!
