It seems a shame that you're stuck with a topic that means so little to so many of your children, even though I suppose lots do holiday-type things when they're off.

Time for a review of topics? [planning to children's interests, blah]
  2. our topic is transport...with a small reference to holidays....have found that slighlty easier. when I ask my ch what they have done in the holidays the most exciting response is 'went to asda'
  3. couldn't agree more inky! But inherited topics and others seem reluctant to let go of them. I have tried to introduce planning from the children's interests to no avail - I'm only a second year teacher and the nursery teacher has 20years experience, she doesn't like change.
Good news is - I'm off to year 2 in Sept.!
