HELP - I have an Interview with a member of staff who is underperforming - what do I do?

  1. Theo - One star means at least that these people have contributed to the 2300 hits so far - I'm not convinced that the star ratings are working though. I tried what you said and this is what i found :- ( maybe some of those who have rated it might findtime to comment.

    THeo - are your staff trained in how to counter workplace bullying? Do they know about the employers policies ? Do they know that if thy do have a problem that the employer will back a more senior bully ? Have you ever been acused of bullying behaviour?

  2. It hasn't pasted correctly but all including mine showed 1 star.

  6. Yes, my one star rating was cos i am fed up with you banging on everywhere about bullying. It's an important topic but not the only one in the world and a large number of people are sick to the back teeth of you hi-jacking threads or starting threads yourself and posting posting posting great long sermons that add nothing new to any debate.

    Thank God I am not one of your pupils. in fact I doubt you even have any, you spend so much time ranting on here there can be no time left to prepare lessons.

  7. This thread and another did continue with Genoveva setting up two abusive 'Calling a19pb' threads where Theogrifff added to the abuse and both of which were intended to invallidate the anti bullying work I do. Others recognised them as being abusive and reported them to the TES moderators.
    My preference was to leave them there for all to see, however they have been pulled. (Is this an example of the evidence being removed to protect the guilty - I hope not, I thought better of TES.) That said, Theo is obviously highly regarded by TES staff so I have my doubts.
    While all are entitled to their opinions on the scale of the problem and of the damage it does, Neither offered any perspective on the subject and both were keen for me to stop doing what I do. I would like to understand their motives. Please enlighten.

  9. a19pbh I find your response truly helpful! spot on! I do feel like printing it and taking it to my new headteacher who is being led by some wolves in sheep's clothing at my school. imagine doing an observation of a colleague and the head coming to join 10 minutes later but after walking in the classroom for a split second, she then told me that the lesson was inadequate. when asked why, no hard evidence could be given since she was in the class for seconds and had already made up her mind on what the outcome would be. which is, that that teacher is a failure. then going into another class and being told that we are going to see what outstanding teaching is!!! without divulging too much, I can't agree with you more.

    Oh dear! I hope your HT is understanding about your lack awareness of the difference between 'there' and 'their'? Sorry, but I wouldn't be so understanding if you were one of my teachers.

    Bullying is an important subject but people have accused you of hijacking threads because this thread is not about bullying and you have made a MASSIVE ASSUMPTION that Januarygirl might be about to bully a member of staff.

    You have completely dominated this thread and changed what it is about, with very longwinded posts which do not address what the OP was asking.

    If you feel this strongly, start your own thread. Presuming that any head who posts about dealing with incompetent staff could be a bully is out of order. One post on the subject might be forgiven but you have totally dominated the topic of conversation here and, dare I say it, that is a form of bullying.
