Help! Beowulf: Dragonslayer!!

Discussion in 'English' started by lottie1804, Feb 14, 2012.

  1. Help!

I'm about to begin my second placement school whilst studying for a PGCE.

I've been asked to teach Beowulf: Dragon slayer by Rosemary Sutcliffe to a class of mixed to high ability year 7s.

Does anyone have any plans/ ideas they would mind sharing?

    I'd be super grateful!!

    Thanks!

While not particularly helpful, my first thought was to recreate various vulgar drinking hall songs to get them into the spirit of Beowulf. That, and to latch onto their desire to embrace a fantasy world setting.
