Help! African stories KS2 any ideas?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by emalou22, Nov 26, 2007.

  1. Hi all,

I am currently doing my PGCE and am teaching in a topic based school. The theme is Africa and I need some ideas for short stories, we are using Journey to Jo'burg as our longer text.

Do you have any recommendations or ideas I could use?

    Thank you

  3. is there a book called something like 'Mufaro's beautiful daughters'

  4. The stories of Anansi are fantastic...used these in Y5 last year for a writing project. Stacks of drama, brilliant writing, super attitudes to writing - highly recommended. Especially, Anansi and the tfalking melon. The drama was hilarious.

  5. I have used the BBC Twin Stories resource in the past.
They are short African stories with lots of ideas for teaching activities.
This is the only place I could find it on-line. It is a pdf file and the writing is on its side!
    Hope it's useful.
