HELLP syndrome

Discussion in 'Pregnancy' started by eightytwo, Feb 4, 2011.

  1. I suffered with HELLP syndrome during my first pregnancy at 37 wks which resulted in an emergency c section, few days in ICU and baby in neonatal for a week [IMG].
Wanting to know what the chances of having HELLP syndrome again are and if it is possible to have a normal pregnancy/birth? I can find very little information on the internet, all American and contradictory.
All I have been told is that throughout my next pregnancy I will be monitored by a consultant.
Hoping to hear form others who have been through this and share their experiences!
  2. Hi, I suffered with HELLP syndrome just 5 months ago. I am still waiting to see my obs to get further information.

So far, I have been steered away from having any more pregnancies which is upsetting.

Would like to hear your experience with HELLP syndrome
