Health care in Cairo

    Any info on the standard of private healthcare in Cairo?

    In my single experience of healthcare in Cairo my Doctor was smoking inside the hospital building.

    Some top class doctors out here and some very good facilities - As Salam International Hospital and The Air Force Hospital are good. Lots of doctors have their own places

    Only slight blip for me was at As Salam International Hospital when, on being admitted for, what I thought was a minor procedure, the nurse instructed the lift operator to take us to "Open Heart Surgery"

    On seeing the look on my face, she said, "They have nicer rooms!"

    Oh, yeah, the paper underpants..."You must put on the paper underpants" "They're too small" "You must wear the paper underpants" " They don't even fit over my calves" "You must..." I got wheeled into the operating theatre with paper underpants on my head
