health & social care- am I qualified?

Discussion in 'Further Education' started by superstyler, Jul 23, 2011.

  1. Hi all-

Just wondering if any of you can give me some advice....
I have been accepted onto a PCET course to teach literacy (course includes level 5 literacy qualification). I finished my degree 10 years ago which allowed me to combine modules from different courses, so I studied English Lit and Applied Social Sciences. For the past 7 years I have been working in the social care sector in supported housing projects and more recently for a homeless charity. I also completed NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care whilst in one of these posts.
Would I be able to teach on health & social care courses as well as teaching literacy?

    Any advice gratefully received!
    Thanks

  2. Hiya, i teach in HSC. Your NVQ L3 should be ok for you to teach on L1 & L2 HSC courses.

  3. Thank you kad2. Sorting out a placement at the moment so just wanted to be sure of how to market myself!
