    Thank you to one and all for the faboulous pics...and Henriette's fabulous musical treat!
    I went up to the Big Smoke for dinner with my sister: heres the bistro menu.
    I had the Chicken liver parfait, the pave of beef and the lemon tart, and my sister had the goat's cheese tart, the pave of beef and the apple crumble. I may never eat again, but I'll die happy!
    Starters
    Home-made soup of the day
    with a warm bread roll

    Parfait of Chicken liver
    with onion chutney & oat cakes

    Cold-Smoked Scottish Salmon
    served with Crème fraiche, chilli jam and baby capers

    Pickled Herring and Potato Salad
    with horseraddish dressing

    Goats Cheese tart with red onion jam & a poached egg
    served with rocket and toasted pine nuts (v)

    Roast Red Pepper and Mango Salad
    with a Spicy Tomato Dressing (v)


    Mains
    Slow cooked pave of prime Scottish beef and chef's potatoes with onion, crispy bacon and sun-blushed tomatoes

    Roast chicken with a creamed honey, ginger, cajun spice and jasmine rice

    Pan-seared Salmon fillet served on a bed of Chorizo, Pak Choi and herb hollandaise with sauteed potatoes

    Smoked haddock & pea risotto with a poached egg

    Pork & apple sausages with buttery mash and onion gravy

    Venison casserole with braised red wine cabbage and chef's potatoes

    Mushroom & blue cheese lasagne with a rocket pine nut salad finished with sweet balsamic (v)

    Classic Bourbon Vanilla Crème Brulee
    with Shortbread (v)

    Lemon Tart
    with Berry Compote and Crème Fraiche (v)

    White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake (v)

    Vanilla Ice Cream

    Selection of French and Scottish Cheeses
    with Onion Chutney and Oatcakes (v)

    All simple stuff, done well. Just the way I like things.
