hi - looking to take on a handwriting scheme that goes EYFS- y6.
Which schemes have you found successful- we do not want lead ins but will be teaching to join diagraphs/ trigraphs etc in y1 - have been looking at Penpals but magic link handwriting also has no lead ins- have any of you used either of these programmes before? Or have any other recommendations.
Thanks for your thoughts in advance

I wouldn't bother with a scheme to be honest.
Just purchase a font which fits with the formation you want (check letters like k and f) and then work as a school to form yearly expectations and create resources. e.g.
Nursery: If writing, letters are correctly formed
    Reception: Letters are formed correctly
Yr1: Letters are formed correctly, with ascenders and descenders and sit on a line
    Yr2: Letters are joined correctly
    etc, etc

This is way cheaper than any more commercial scheme.

The main issue is there is a lot of focus on handwriting in reception class through to the end of year 2- however the weight and focus on handwriting seems to flag from year 3 onwards and so handwriting deteriorated. We thought if we had a scheme that works up to year 6 it may help staff to maintain the focus on handwriting as the children move up the school ....
