handwriting - teaching pre cursive letters

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by rosiems, Jan 12, 2012.

  1. Hi , I'm after a bit of help/advice. I'm trying to look at handwriting in school at the mo - we use the sheffield handwriting scheme further up the school, which is a basic cursive style The problem is in early yrs and ks 1 they seem to teach a basic printing style, so it's then hard to ask kids to change to develop joins. I know in some schools pre cursive formation is taught from day one, but I have no idea how to resource it if we introduce this at school. Does anyone have any suggestions - I have a feeling I might have to make my own resources from scratch, as I can't seem to find anything online. Thanks
