...and I couldn't settle to anything - put it down to missing the first day back at school.

Hubs fell again - this time more seriously and he has been admitted to hospital with head and face wounds plus other minor cuts.

All this on top of a piece of metalwork in his toe coming through his skin and causing him immense pain.

Big downturn over the last couple of weeks.

    Either or both!
My Aunty Doris was as sharp as a pin but her balance thru repeated TIAs made it she could only live at home with a Piper Alarm and a zinmer. Which she gratefully did till she died at 86.
Head injuries don't help. Unless you've actually had enough.

Missed the edit. Is he getting near in his head? If this is inappropriate, ignore me. Just thinking of my own friends and relations. One seemed to know when they were ready.

Oh Marshall a worrying time for you.

Good that you won't have sleep disturbed by your husband, but 'balanced' probably by worrying about how he's coping in hospital.

Don't have any advice, other than to send big hugs.

Poor fella. It's no life, is it?

If we were a humane society we'd stuff the dying full of brandy or Scotch, give 'em fags if that's why they wanted, get them a super screen TV and all the latest films and let them expire as happily as possible.

    No. A hospital.

    Poor chap and poor you.

I know exactly how you feel. I gave up a teaching job about six years ago when I had to look after my folks for a bit. That first day in September (and a few more after it too) I felt like I really should have been in school.

    It does pass.

Little i can add to what has been said. The drag into hospital takes it out of you as well. Make sure you look after yourself, worrying doesn't make him well but it can make you ill. So trust the hospital to take the strain for a while.

Have things changed today, Marshall? Thinking of you both.

Aside from that you probably are feeling strange about the first week in September. Quite understandable.
