If someone is hogging the limelight, it won't go unnoticed. Teaching is very much a profession where being a team player is a necessity. If I felt it appropriate, I would simply say "I'm really sorry to interrupt but...", and offer my views-you could even throw it open to everyone else at that point and ask "what does everyone think?", which to my mind demonstrates your interest in everyone else's opinions, rather than imposing yours onto everyone else.
Thank you that sounds like a good idea , that I could use if I am in that situation again. I was disappointed that it had not gone well and did not want to spoil my chance again, if I get called to interview at the alternative university.
