Would you want a teacher to be drunk while in charge of your child?

  2. Well obviously not if the teacher was at work, but what if the teacher was also a parent and drunk in charge of his/her own child outside work time? I'm sure most parents have been 'guilty' of that at some time or other.

It's an offence to be drunk in charge of a bicycle, so you would think that ii should also apply to being drunk in charge of a child ...

A quick glance turned up several newspaper reports of people charged with this offence as well as the relevant charge - "drunk whilst in charge of a child under 7 years old".
