I love grass. It is so green and lovely.

What is your favourite bit of grass? Mine is the wild sort growing on hills.

I like those long delicate soft grass flower heads on reddish stalks you get growing through heather/bilberry on moorlands in the late summer. They softly tickle your legs as you walk through (in shorts).

We have some very pretty grasses in the garden. We also have grass. A very nice man recently sacrificed it. There was plenty of thatch!

I don't like whispering grass 'cause it tells the trees, and the trees don't need to know.

Astroturf is rather nice because you only have to hoover it instead of cutting it.

    Grass is a monocotyledon.

All grasses are monocots but not all monocots are grasses.

It was reeds that grassed up my Phrygian friend Midas.

I might not like whispering grass but I do like quaking grass - it makes a little rattling sound in the wind.

Don't confuse grass with reeds or sedges. Grass is flat. Sedges have edges, and rushes are round.

Meadow Foxtail is a favourite of mine - not to be confused with Timothy

The guttersnipe was referring to reeds of the Poaceae.
