Discussion in 'Teaching assistants' started by kstravis, Jan 24, 2012.

  1. Hi
Was wondering if anyone can help, am at present completing a cache level 3 QCF TA course and have been working voluntarily for a couple of years in a Primary school. Looking at jobs I don't understand what the grading and scales mean and can't seem to get any information eg. job I'm looking at says Grade B scale 3 pts 14-17, how do you know if you are of this standard to apply and what does it mean??!!

    Thanks.

  4. At the primary school where I work there are a number of T.A's
including myself who are concerned that we are not on the correct pay scales
For the roles that we are expected to undertake, the majority of us are
level 1 A1/B1 point 8, our competency framework outlines our roles,
however we are expected to teach intervention/catch-up with no
Prep or planning time whilst still being expected to decorate our
classrooms with displays and other duties, we are all frustrated
at the lack of reasonable explanations from those who know!

    Had to vent, sorry!
Any advice would be gratefully received.
