Good free webhosting service.

  1. Can anyone recommend a good free webhosting service that uses browser FTP and is easy to register with. Ideally something I could use with a class. Thanks.

  3. I can't think of any that would let you use FTP, but depending on what you want to do, you could use Dropbox. http://www.dropbox.com/features
It's not technically designed for this sort of thing, but it saves stuff to a server, very easy to use (it's just a folder on your computer), and if you put stuff in the public folder, each file has its own URL.
The first 2GB are free. It also does version control which is handy. Might not be appropriate but worth a look anyway.
If you want something more realistic though, I know a few people at some hosting companies and I might be able to convince them to set something up for you if you tell me exactly what you're looking for.
