Golden Hello's

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by richardpcollins, Mar 13, 2012.

  1. Hi there hoping someone can help,

I have done most of my induction year in a secondary school (75%)completing a maternity cover. I will be moving to a sixth form college to finish the last part (25%) of my induction year. Both schools are under the same learning authority.
Will i still be entitled to my golden hello? anyone been in a similar situation?

    Thank you

Check with the TDA your specific circumstances but in my experience it has been soley for shortage secondary subject teaching and this has not extended to post 16 courses only. To claim you have to be teaching your subject area and you have a year from completing induction to claim the payment.

  4. As mentioned above, do check with the TDA but I do not think you will get the GH for this, it was intended for secondary shortage and people going into a post, completing induction - the GH was paid by the LA through normal salary during your fourth term of teaching.
