Glee club

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Teacher1974, Jun 29, 2011.

  1. Hi, just been to see Glee Live and was inspired to start some sort of Glee club from September, possibly aimed at Y4/5. I'm concerned about the content of some songs as they might not be appropriate for younger children, and I definitely don't want to start a choir. I'm looking to do something more upbeat. Can anyone direct me to some good resources please? We use Out of the Ark a lot already but I'm really thinking about pop music.

  2. Check out PS 22's website, Grade 5s from Staten Island, been doing this ten years and more. Lots on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GgMlUa5Zx0 They are now world famous.

Dave Kinnoin, www.songwizard.com has written pop styled songs for children, if I were starting a primary age "glee" club, I'd look into the specialist childrens composers who write specificallly for Y5s etc. (Mostly overseas, though)
