Gifted and talented identification checklist

Discussion in 'Primary' started by blackpurse, Jan 12, 2011.

  1. I'm the Gifted and talented coordinator. We select mainly on academic data but would like a check list to use along side. Is there any such lists available online?
  2. I'm not aware of any such checklist, nor am I sure what would be in one. Nor do I think one is really needed.
As far as I know the govt guidelines of G & T being the top 10% of a cohort still stand. Not that I think it is a sensible guideline.
Identifying Gifted using academic criteria is fine, but how do you go about identifying the Talented? For instance, the sporting, the creative etc. That has to be more subjective and / or uses a very different form of evidence.
