Getting replies to children's letters.

    I'm about to start letter writing. Thinking of writing for a real life purpose, has anyone had recent success in getting replies from authors, illustrators, children's TV presenters? Ideas greatly appreciated.

    I agree with Pomona. I get the kids to write to the Queen once per year and we always get a beautiful letter back within a fortnight. I photocopy it for the kids and they treasure it. One old pupil came back last year and told me their mum had kept the Queen’s reply from when they were in Y2. Often the reply includes an information sheet as well.
