Geography based topic for Year 3/4

Discussion in 'Primary' started by LINDSAYL, Mar 7, 2011.

  1. Hi,
I am wanting ideas for a Geography based topic for year 3/4. It has to have some kind of environmental aspect too. Was thinking maybe water - coasts, saving water etc. Has anyone done anything successful?
    Thanks!

  2. What about, Around the World In Eighty Days?

  3. Around the world in 30 days.
Water is a good one, could get lots of science in there too!
Or Rainforests - can get something about deforestation, saving habitats etc, as well as where in the world :)

I was thinking 'Water' as soon as I read the thread title.
I've done a topic on 'The Earth' too - you can fit anything into that - water, volcanoes, earthquakes, weather, climate change etc. At the start I discussed the possibilities with the children and they came up with the bits they were interested in and questions to answer - that then formed the basis for what we did.
