You may already be aware of this, but Edexcel provide a breakdown of entries by sex on their website. For AS Music Technology, last summer's entry was:
    M: 4209
    F: 1077
    and A2 was:
    M: 2792
    F: 589

  3. AS - 3 girls
A2 - 3 boys and 3 girls...but I do teach in an all-girls' school in which boys are only allowed in the sixth form.

  4. AS - 7 Girls, 33 Boys. A2 - 1 Girl, 15 Boys. I think it's a real problem, there should be more girls in the music industry!

  5. I only went to music college because of the girlz.
Most orchestras across Europe and America- even in Japan- are reaching parity in terms of men/women as musicians of a certain age retire!
