Is it a good idea for GCSE students who want to excel, to do challenging GCE O level preliminary papers for revision?

On the other hand, is it alright to let weaker GCE O level students use GCSE practice papers to strengthen their foundation before proceeding to GCE?

I see. Only a few Commonwealth countries are still offering the qualification.
