    Hello,
I am aware this subject has been discussed before on this forum but what with new specifications and alterations, I know that opinions change and develop so thought it warranted a new post.
My department is considering a move to GCSE ICT and are investigating the different courses: AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC. I would be very grateful if anyone could offer their comments, positive or negative, about any of these courses. I'm particularly interested to find out:
    a) how people (teachers/pupils) have found the programming module in the new OCR specification
    b) to what extent the coursework for the new Edexcel GCSE resembles that for DiDA, given that candidates still have to produce an eportfolio, and whether the assessment is as onerous
    c) which course, if any, people consider the most suitable in terms of preparing pupils for post-16 ICT
    Thanks in advance

  4. a) I think whether or not they have found it difficult, the pupils should be prepared to work hard and exert some effort. Otherwise they are in the wrong subject.

Even though programming may be new to them, they will never get anywhere unless they put some effort in and learn the basics.
