GCSE DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TEACHERS...

  1. (I don't know why it took out all my spacing! Sorry it looks so condensed now. I can't find the edit post option)

  2. For some reason this forum takes the formatting out of anything written on an Apple :( The exam boards are all too keen to display examples of work and dictate briefs for GCSE students. Why not try http://web.aqa.org.uk/qual/newgcses/dandt/new/product_materials.php?id=06&prev= or http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/type/gcse/dt/product_design/index.html for the specification documents which will give you the briefs that students follow of two radically different GCSE's in product design

I try to let it be as open as possible, but thats very hard to manage at times. Plus, AQA set exam briefs for us (which in fairness are very open to interperetation)
Plenty of teachers get good results by doing the same old projects year after year (that way the kids can simply copy a folder from someone else .. oooh, the scandal!) in my opinion it often depends on how daring the teacher is more than how creative the student is.
