We have appealed 9 results based on being 1 mark from a C. 6 results have come back and 3 have gone up to a C. I thought historically there was a very low conversion rate. Does anyone know where I could get any official Edexcel figures from?

  4. Not me.
When you are so close to a borderline, remarks are a bit like a drunkards walk - some go forwards and some go back. Marking is not that precise.
Maybe precise mark bands should be replaced by fuzzy mark band borderlines, so A*/A, A/B, B/C etc.
Better still just give the percentage of candidates above and below.
