Full time contract after 2 years?

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by Lilybett, Jan 26, 2012.

  1. Are you in a union? Mine (NUT) helped me out ridiculously quickly and efficiently earlier today and asked in return that I recommend them. I do.

No, you need to be on a series of fixed term contracts for a period covering 4 years, for it to (potentially and automatically) become perm.
You will have gained rights if you are made redundant and have the rights not to be unfairly dismissed.

  3. Thank you Crowbob, looks like I'll have to deal with things being up in the air for a bit longer!

No problem. It is a common myth.
Remember that you do get some extra protection (via redundancy rights).
