?Its Friday night! I?m bored,? he said
?Its just too soon to go to bed?
?I?d like some friends to play online,
But most of them can?t do a rhyme!
A riddle with an end would do,
I?ll do the time, the rhyme for you,
I?ll do them quickly and in verse
Or not at all, whatever?s worse!
Will some of you come on to play?
    You Friday night SBs OK?
Cos in my present state of bored
I?d welcome any from the hoard!?

  5. Jacob Jacob you might be mad
'cos I'm about to go off and be sad
    Big Brother is calling me
Loudly from the screen of my colour TV
If p[oetry you'd decided to write before
I'd have known to pop on AOL and we'd ahve had time to guffaw.

Wille mail you those pics I promise - catch ya later x

  6. iambic tetrameter
is all we seem to have here

    that would be amazing

jacob, i'll be your friend. we'll
    force others into
    this summer poetry game.

  8. Well I can offer somthing new
In terms of a diffent kind of rhyming to do
Its based on the metre of a Scottish poet
His work is famous I bet you know it
I really don't want to puzzle you all
So I'll tell you his name is McGonagall
His metre was not iambic or pentamic
    But instead very individualistic
He just made his lines last as long as he desired
And so in poetic mud he never got mired.

    Sounds our kind of bloke.

  9. Oh Jacob, what a good idea
I'd really like to try it
But every time I have a go
It all turns pear shaped because i never get the last line right

    McGonagall's my kind of man
Even if his stupid lines go on and on and do not scan

  11. jacob, you came up with a great idea,
then b*ggered off and left us to it.
i say that's mean and want to hear
some more of your poems (just for a bit?)

I wrote a few and place on screen.
I had a drink of wine between
The problem is the lines come fast,
I keep my end up here. at last!
I you "search" me upon the TESS
You'll find some more I've done, God Bless!
A viking maiden was the one
But down the pages it has gone!

  13. a drink of wine -
    a grand idea
and now I'm thinking all the more clear
    ly, but can't possibly
    allow you to think
that I'm one of the bored of which you speak.

    I have a great life,
    why wouldn't I, jacob?
    I teach, mark and mark
and WILL NEVER never hate it

please forgive my half-rhyme fetish, it's
all your fault, you set me off on this.

You need to drink a few more jars,
but do not watch Tom's film of Mars
You need to learn to scan your rhyme
and get the rythm right on time!

  15. jacob you must learn to spell
rhythm has an 'h' in it as well!

    I really do apologise
Holier than thou, but oh so wise!

  17. poetry is not only rhyming
    it is personal expression

    and timing

  18. Well this is fun, a jolly game
all poems different, none the same.
To write a poem I'm never asked,
well, never have been in the past.

Some time ago the blues was thread
It went quite well (or so tis said)
In manchester the stuff was praised
And then a glass or two was raised

  20. Last time I wrote poetry
Was to ease the pain of teenage me.
    I couldn't bear to rhyme
    Each tortuous and depressing line,
So I wept quietly in verse
    so free
    They nearly ordered a hearse
    for me.
