Fricking hell

My 22 year old has started to say fricking a lot, as has my 19 year old and now my younger ones are starting too. I have read the word fricking twice in 5 minutes on these forums.
Is there a sudden upsurge in its usage or am I way behind the curve as usual?

    I still prefer a good f*** - but I am old fashioned.

The 22 year old and 19 year old were never home educated. The 11 year old is at school now, so that leaves the little one a home ed kid.
