  14. I do (for my 8th and 9th graders FR 1 in the U.S.) a rhyme called "Bonjour Madame Lundi" that I found on www.mamalisa.com. There are several songs, comptines, rhymes, etc. from around the world a this site. I made my students recite it for me in their French 1 class and when reviewing in French 2 they said they went through the rhyme to remember the days...so it must work.
I've downloaded the MP3 from the website to my computer.

  15. For something really simple, use the alphabet song ! It also works in Spanish and my Year 7 loved it !
    lundi (A; B), mardi (C, D), mercredi (E,F,G), etc.
Yuo have the time to say the days of the week exactly three times on the tune, and what's good with it is that you can accelerate the pace when they have picked it up and challenge them to see who sing it the fastest while still being accurate ! :)

  16. What's the alphabet song?

  17. Hi there
This does have a couple of sentences of more complicated French in it, but I had an associate who used The Flintstones' theme song.
    "Lundi, mardi, mercredi,
    jeudi, ven-dre-di, same-di, di-manche,
    les7 jours de la semaine,
    52 fois pendant toute l'année.
    7 jours, pour apprendre à l'école
où mes profs et mes amis sont si drôles.
    Lundi, mardi, mercredi,
    jeudi, ven-dre-di, same-di, di-manche."

This song is from Etienne, the Canadian singer. Check out all his resources - they are brilliant. Here in West Australia 20 high schools paid to bring him over to give a concert to our year 9s. It was fabulous. see the link
