French business studies students looking for contacts

Discussion in 'Business studies' started by Meluzyna, May 31, 2011.

  1. Our school (in the Poitou Charentes in Western France) has a class of 30 business studies students
(BTS MUC) and the teachers have had the bright idea that to motivate the
students to study English rather more seriously than they do at the
moment a trip to the UK should be organised for the coming school year.
As I understand it, they would like to connect with a college or school in the UK which does something similar.
    The
ideal would be if the students could stay with host families and attend
a few classes as well as discovering the local business set up, but if
host families could not be found then they could stay in a youth hostel
or similar - as always finance is a problem and lodgings tend to be the
most expensive part of any trip.
I would probably be for just a week and the dates would be decided with the partner school.
    Of
course if the UK students or other students from their school / college
wanted to come here then we would be delighted to host - but our class
has 25-30 students aged 18-21 and I understand that in the UK I am
unlikely to find that number of students in that age group studying
    French.
If you can help or know someone who might be able to, please get in touch,

    TIA,

    Mel

PS I am also going to post this on the langauge forum, but I think Business Studies is really more appropriate ......
