Forced academy status

    I am intrigued by the idea that a government forcing schools (including all primary schools) to become academies without parental or teacher representation is a "good idea" or in any way "democratic".

    Also note in the latest White paper that academies will no longer need to have parent governors on their governing body and that the `chair` of these governing bodies/AAAs will be appointed ... by the academy `chain` /MAT in question !!!!!.So much for an independent review of head teachers and schools performance !
