I have so little respect for most politicians that I don't believe there will be resignations. I can think of many who really ought to have gone in the last few years, who just hang on in there.

That’s a fair point. Unless this is part of a plan?

I am not even sure they have a plan... That would indictate logical thought.

At the moment I can’t see an ideal answer to the Northern Irish situation tgwfcsb get through parliament unless it’s an indefinite customs union extension

The desire is to see May land the brexit deal i think.Once itsi place sack her and then replace her with one of the wanabees.Anything to stop an election, not that i want Cornyn or the Momemtum party.
No body want the poisoned chalice or be seen as resposible for all the big moans yet to come from the remainers.

It is hard to say - nothing is more cynical than the world of politics.

We have a prime minister who promised to leave the EU on our behalf and yet who now crawls to Labour MPs to help her defeat those in her own party who might have the guts to stand by their principles and vote her remain package down.

What is also mind boggling is she crawled to Labour MPs recently who were on the other side (pro Brexit) to defeat an amendment to keep us in the CU.....yet now wants to do exactly that with the very Labour MPs she fought against!

I am pretty certain we will see a total fudge which is effectively a budget version of the Norway model (still in the EU, not least under their laws) and a GE where UKIP gets a massive surge in votes but as we have FPTP it will catapult Corbyn into number 10.

Cynically (or smartly depending on your pov) Labour will help to vote the deal through as they can then say 'nothing to do with us, gov' at the next election.

What are the DUP resigning from? They might form a cross-borders party DUPSF to keep in at both camps.

Northern Ireland will be set up as suits Governments and the DUP can whistle in the wind. It has been said, recently, that the UK and RoI set up DUP and SF at the expense of UUP and SDLP. Thanks to Tony again.

In my mind's eye I see @red_observer parked in front of the telly box with a Brexit Resignation Bingo card, a crate of ale imported from a democratic socialist republic, and Queen's 'Another One Bites the Dust' on permanent loop on a Chinese knock off iPod. :)

To stop trouble-making. Hence the incompetence and corruption that we have been suffering.
