fixed term contract

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by CJCameron, May 31, 2011.

  1. I applied for a job in the TES advertised as a full time fixed contract. I have received the contract ofr signing but it states that it is a one year temporary contract - what do I do?

  2. My contract is fixed for a year, but will renew - they do it when employing an nqt to cover their backs, in case your rubbish I think!

Thye actually can't do that when employing NQTs,a temp/fixed term post can only be advertised/given if there are good reasons why, e.g. unusual blip in numbers, change in structure at the school, wanting to advertise next year for someone and not having the opportunity to appoint exisiting teachers because the resignation date has passed etc...
