Fish Tank Risk Assessment

Discussion in 'Primary' started by wibwibs, Dec 29, 2011.

  1. Hi Everyone
    Can anyone help me?
I want to put a small fish tank in my reception class but have been asked to write a risk assessment for it. As I'm an NQT I have never written on before. Has anyone got one I could has a peek at, it would be a great help.

Children may try to eat the fish food.

Children may try to eat the fish.

Children may try to drown each other in the water.

The water may become contaminated and harm children who put their hands in.

Children may be traumatised when the fish die.

Children may choke on the stones they take from the bottom of the tank and put in their mouths.

Sounds such a nice and simple thing to have a tank of fish...but in our school all of the above would be on the RA!
