    I usually use the bags the compost comes in but I've got some grow bags this time and they're a bit narrow so I'm using some black rubble bags which have a good thickness.

    But I'm surprised you put the hanger inside a black sack. I always put the plastic inside the hanger, add a few pieces of scrunched up newspaper, then some compost then the ivy and then the plants, topping it up with compost and then making the drainage holes with a knitting needle.

    Use scissors to cut away any excess plastic after you've watered for a few days.
