I'm starting a PGCE in September and trying to draw up a budget for the year now that the bursary has been scrapped and money is going to be very tight.
After I have finished my PGCE and assuming that I get a teaching job in the September, does that mean I will be in a position to find a job for the summer? I guess I will only get paid for my employment in school from the start of the role in September?
How did everyone else manage financially between the end of the PGCE and their first job as a teacher?
    Thanks, Elimay.

In some areas schools appoint NQTs in July and pay them on supply rate until the end of term so their first salary payment is in August- this is mainly London and S East areas.
Many teachers pick up work in summer camps/ playschemes etc. or the usual summer temp jobs
  3. I'm teaching at a language camp over the summer.
