So I have mine on Thursday and just thought I'd throw it out there to see if people could give advice or share their experiences.
Any suggestions for what to take with me or questions to ask? Is there anything I don't want them to suggest, or equally, things to push for (in the way of investigations)?
So far I figure I'll take along all my test results, so long as the surgery will provide them, and also my meds (esp thyroid) which they've requested any way. Would they be at all interested in my bbt charts do you think?

  3. We went armed with results from our GP as he was keen for us not to be sent away to wait for scans etc. I took blood test, internal/external ultrasound results as well as a details of pcos and endo. Husband had his SA results that we paid for privately.
The first appt was quite long, she looked at our results in detail. I was weighed (worst part actually) and my height was measured. She asked me lots of questions about my periods, medical background, if I'd ever been pregnant etc. My husband's SA was looked at and he was asked medical background questions as well as if he'd ever impregnated anyone else.
I was referred for blood tests and my husband was given an appt to see an andrologist as his SA has morphology issues. The second appt was far shorter, they still weighed me and queried whether I'd had a period. We saw the actual consultant who requested a HSG and suggested that clomid would be the next step. I took BBT chart and info from accupuncturist but he didn't even look at it! In the meantime husband had seen the andrologist.
Third appt was awful....hadn't lost enough weight for clomid so sent away again. Still in limbo waiting to see them again in June. Feeling indifferent at the moment......want it more for my husband than myself.
Goodness, what a long post! Sorry for rambling lovely...good luck x

  4. Just as woo says really. I had an internal scan though which I didn't expect and wasn't really prepared for! It's fine by the way, just dont believe the nurse if she says the *** goes through your cervix cosmi doesn't! Lots of love, will be thinking of you and hoping its another step forwards for you x

  5. My first appointment I took copies of day 2 and day 21 bloods and OH's SA. Your surgery should give these to you no problem, they're YOUR results. At the appointment I was weighed and she then worked out BMI and height was recorded. FS asked me and OH various questions and then nurse took a swab from cervix to check for any infection (something I wasn't prepared for). Good luck x

Thanks for your input guys. As you said Woo, I really want to avoid any situation which means I'm sent away to wait for other stuff which could've been avoided if they'd had the info there and then. I'll go with my best undies on just in case then! [IMG] I've booked in for a nice pamper session later in the day; hopefully it'll be just the ticket, rather than something I'd preferred to have booked for another day.

  7. Sounds like you're well prepared already toe - take all your previous results with you as they haven't always had them forwarded from the GP (mine didn't have our SA results but luckily we brought them). They also weighed me and measured me as the first job before talking to both of us about our history.
Great idea to treat yourself to a pamper session afterwards - take care of yourself, you deserve it xx
