Really offended by the pretend posh 'Oxford couple'; she goes to, him?

Do people actually think Oxbridge people are like this?

I went to Oxford, very laid back college, but we had all sorts - state, indie, overseas (me) but never pretentious (we voted against most formal gown stuff) and my college hosts a summer school outreach for state students.

There was an outreach programme for state students and you don't think it was posh or pretentious?

Plenty of birds/babes there, halcyon days.

I went to Cambridge from a state school and it was a shock to the system. Now I teach in an independent school I know where all of the confident teenagers dressed in sports jackets come from. I think of it as a private school type rather than an Oxbridge type but they definitely dominated at my college.
