Finding resources

Discussion in 'Primary' started by travel n teach, Aug 10, 2011.

  1. Does anyone else find it really difficult to locate resources now that the website has been updated. previously you were able to search with subject, stage, keyword etc and it was pretty simple. Now I simply can't find resources that I saw in the past. Is there something that I am missing? It's such a shame as people have uploaded fantastic stuff which I find difficult to locate.

I agree. It seems like there is now a selected set of resources that have been made easier to find, and all the other things have been "tidied away."

  4. I totally agree.
I used to get so much from this site but now can't find a thing! Also, things often seem to be in the wrong category! I can hardly find any planning examples either which is very frustrating.

  5. Hopefully some of our resources may be of use to you.

Please let us know any ideas you have for resources.

  6. Thanks for the link to your website, some of the resources are very useful. I liked your visual timetable cards but ideally I'm looking for cards about A5 size as I find the chn really can't see the smaller ones from the back of the classroom. Other cards which I use include: Spanish, handwriting, Library, Literacy and Circletime. If these were editable then chn could swap the names to suit themselves. Just an idea.

I have to admit that I miss browsing. I used to come across ideas and think that I would like to do something similar. Sometimes it just kick - started a sluggish brain.

  10. We're sorry that you are unhappy with the layout.

To use the search, type your keywords (separated by spaces) in the search box at the top of the page and hit 'Enter'. We've made it faster so you don't have to click on a button that says 'Search.
All results that you get back are in order of relevance to your keywords. You can either click "keyword matches" or choose which stage you require to narrow your search. You can alter your results to see what's new by clicking 'Newest' at the top once you get to the results page and even see what's been recommended.

I agree with other posters that I' have found difficulty finding resources BUT we had this discussion on another forum and if you use the good advice from Bev & when your 'page comes up with results you have 2 choices in top left corber underneath the bar one says Topics and subjects and the other is in brackets saying (Keyword matches) and a number of matches found. If you click on that it narrows the chices and then uou can choose by stage etc.
Hope that helps- certainly helps me.

  14. Thanks for the replies everyone, narrowing the search using keywords certainly helps!!
