Finance scenarios required

Discussion in 'Business studies' started by chrisveall, Sep 1, 2015.

  1. Hello members of business studies,

New to this but I am looking for a finance scenario where students can input figures into a cash flow forecast, profit and loss account and calculate the break even point. Ideally, it would be good to have the same business scenario throughout rather than different businesses.

I am about to start teaching VCERTS Level 2 Business - Unit 3 which is about finance.

Many thanks in advance if you can help

    Kids love animals.

Try a cattery or a dog kennels

They could try and calculate how many cats does the cattery have to have boarding in a week to break even, they could also calculate in a year and in a month figures as well. Could be 12.4 cats so explain how they can't have 0.4 of a cat.

Could also then introduce extras like collecting the moggy from its owners home rather than the owner having to drive to the cattery. Also maybe they could sell cat accessories or offer vets services. How does this affect break-even?

    Hope that helps
