Fiction Books set in the 1960's

Discussion in 'English' started by Loudleyther, Dec 6, 2011.

  1. I'm looking for a book suitable for Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5/6) set in the 1960's. My next topic is based around the 1960's and I would like to use the book as a start for the children's learning.

We will be covering fashion, racism, technology, music, historical events, film and television and so on . . .

    Any ideas?

    Chris.

    There's a huge differencve between 1960 and 1969, though!
In 1960 homesexuality and abortion were illegal (no Pill or contraceptive advice for single women) and we still had capital punishment. All gone by 69.
No human had been into space in 1960, but in '69 we put men on the moon.
