But the West End of Edinburgh will never be the same. And @gargs face still graces Wanted posters in that neck of the woods.

I've never been to a meet where anything exciting happened but it is really good to meet people in person and it changes the way the forums work I think.

    I have two questions...

How many of those would cancel if I said I was coming?
What's it worth to me if I say I won't?

Have arranged childcare, so can come!

@Spiritwalkerness - were you supposed to come to a tes meet that I organised about two years ago? If so, I have a present that @emilystrange asked me to get you (coal soap? does that makes sense?) and will bring!

Yes. Twice I've booked tickets and twice things have stopped me. Ohhhh Wright's Coal Tar soap - so evocative.

Just looked up train tickets. £100 return, limited availability. Could we make it the Lake District instead ?

@silkywave That's amazing. It's cost me £17.25 for TWO return from the midlands inc. booking fee. That's with a senior railcard.

I was initially quoted nearly eighty pounds online but managed to get it down to less than half that with help from the ticket-master at the station who enthusiastically accepted my invitation to pop round and visit me at home sometime, and took my address and phone number, too!

I’d definitely recommend it as a cost-saving strategy.

A woman I once met in the pub suggested we exchange phone numbers. I don't know if I did the right thing in pointing out that would make it confusing for anyone who called either of us. She looked blankly at me and the conversation somehow fizzled out.

I'm out I'm afraid - I have two dental appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday of half term.
