I seem to go through phases with my toast. My favourite one of the moment is golden syrup on toast but I also love tomatoes with basil and plenty of S&P.
    What about everyone else?

    Poached Egg - runny yolk
Tomato and loads of Black Pepper
    Butter and Marmite
    Mum's Blackberry Jam/Jelly

    And my all-time favourite....Gentleman's Relish!

    Honey topped with sliced banana.
Sliced apple with cheddar cheese on top then grilled.
Some chopped walnuts are good on either of the above.

  5. Depends...

Granary bread: scrambled eggs, no butter, but plenty of black pepper and ketchup on the side.

Plastic white: thick sliced with loads of butter

GF bread: anything to take the taste away, the seeded stuff nearly as good as 'normal' bread, but spread with English mustard and topped with strong cheddar, it's not too bad.

Brown GF also tastes okay with smooth peanut butter and banana.

Normally, you just can't beat some really good, salty butter.
    Love Marmite.
    Love, love, LOVE Gentleman's Relish.
    Fried mushrooms.
    Poached eggs.
    Tinned sardines in tomato sauce.
Peanut butter and Marmite (a new one on me, shared with me by my father-in-law - very good indeed!)

  11. avocado - lush!
Seeing as we've planted 3 avocado trees, liking avocado is obligatory.

It's not proper spaghetti but it is great on toast!

  13. Oh! the other favourite. Leftover baked vegetables. (They're not really leftovers because we always do a huge baking dish full.) Cold in sammiches, warmed up on toast. Yum!

l like thinly sliced ripe banana on multi grain bread, lightly toasted and buttered with a drizzle of golden syrup, or Asda smart price crunchy peanut butter (no marg) with a sprinkle of salt on thickly hand sliced white bread.

  15. I like achoori, but.....
No butter, scrambled egg fresh from the chicken and black pepper
No butter very cold tomato and salt (oops)
Oven roasted garlic, piping hot and mushy!

But I also reinvented the toast topper... only to find that so had many other people![IMG]
Cream cheese, mustard, butter beans and maybe some well cooked bacon! Pop it back under the grill to get the full effect!

  16. It has to be cheese [IMG]

  17. butter and marmite!
