Discussion in 'Primary' started by jamezium, Apr 3, 2011.

  1. I love all the subjects we teach but especailly
    1. English
    2. Maths
    3. Science.

    My bottom 3 would be:
    1. PSHE
    2. RE
    3. History

What do other people feel are their favourite/ least favourite subjects to teach?

    English
    Maths
    (everything else)
Music would be my bottom simply because I'm tone deaf with no sense of rhythm [IMG]

    Favourite:
PSHCE, tis the only one that by year 6 I think it vital that they know everything they learn.
And of course there is no marking!

    Least favourite:
Outdoor PE in winter (Thank the Lord for PPA teachers who like it!)
Art, because I feel the class get a raw deal being taught by me as I'm not very good.

DT because we have no equipment/resources and a co-ord who doesn't care. So even year 6 do little more than junk modelling.

  4. I'm not really sure I have a complete favourite as it depends on what topic I am teaching at the time but I guess it might be
    1. Literacy
    2. Religion
    3. History

    My bottom three would be
    1. PSHCE
    2. PE
    3. ICT

    Faves:

    1. Literacy (especially when we are doing poetry)

    2. PSHE (love the discussions we have)

    3. ICT (because it's my strong point and I like showing them new things)

    Least fave:

    1. DT (just had a completely disastrous DT week, I am hopeless and so are my class!)

    2. Maths (so frustrating when they don't get it!)

    3. Music (I don't know what I'm doing half the time and I normally get the children who play instruments to explain all the musical terms to the rest of the class!)

  12. I find it so difficult to pick best subjects as there is something in nearly everything that I enjoy.
Do others find that they enjoy subjects they are good at more?
I am hopeless at DT and art but enjoy them
and I have an A* grade GCSE at RE but it does nothing for me, just went to a Catholic school.

Good to see that languages figure in at least 3X Top 3- we need to keep MFL going strong!
