When the people who did it go on Facebook to brag about doing it and they post a video themselves doing it maybe we should take their word for it.

Then you've completely failed to understand the point being made. As usual.

This is why the NPC meme is so easily applied. You leap repeatedly to the same safe conclusions.
Oh for... stop running the script.

You seem to be missing the fact that these so called conclusions are merely Nanook pointing out that this incident reported by Carlson wasn't treated with the same skepticism by some, as the bombs (sorry, "bombs" as they were described) that were sent round to vocal opponents of trump.

There is no point to ‘whataboutery’ except diversion.

The NPR meme the Dunning-Kruger effect stamped all over it; those that post it have worked out that strings are being pulled, they just haven’t worked out that they are puppets.

Leftist Protesters: 'If Tucker Carlson Didn't Want To Get Mobbed In His Own Home, Then Why Did He Disagree With Us?'
WASHINGTON, D.C.—After an antifa group was widely criticized for mobbing Tucker Carlson's home and chanting "We know where you sleep at night!" the group defended itself, pointing out that if Carlson didn't want to get mobbed, then he shouldn't have disagreed with them in the first place.

As critics denounced the frightening actions of the mob, the group stood firm, claiming it was Carlson's own fault for not parroting leftist talking points on his program.

"There's a really easy way not to get mobbed in public places or your own home: march in lockstep with the leftist agenda," said a Smash Racism D.C. spokesperson. "It's really simple."

"What'd you think we were gonna do, disagree civilly? Yeah, right!" he added.

The group also warned other people that if angry, violent protesters show up at their homes or places of business and threaten or assault them, it's their own fault. "You're really asking for it if you can't take the easy step of nodding your agreement to every position of the far left. We can't help ourselves, you know. Unhinged leftists will be unhinged leftists, after all."

Poor Carlson, he defends those who harass the parents of murdered children, then wonders why people feel enabled to harass him.

He has set the rules of engagement.

No-one set any 'rules' ... stop being so silly. You're actually defending and delighting in this? What with it being so funny to you?

I suspect if this was the Alt-Right outside a prominent left wing commentator you'd be singing a different tune...

To be fair, so would art. Last week when prominent critics of trump were being sent bombs, this outrage was nowhere to be seen.

‘Silly’ to have no sympathy for some one who actively supports Alex Jones’ ‘right’ to tell lies and promote the harassment of murdered children’s parents? Who has made a career from promoting fear and hatred?

It is ‘commentators’ like him who have created this environment, propagating lies & conspiracy theories like Sandy Hook & Pizzagate for political gain. They don’t care what the truth is as long as they ‘win’.

Well, he has ‘won’ the society he has helped create.

Yep, stand behind your flag of ‘Whaterabouteryland’ and wonder what went whistling above your head.

If you name a ‘prominent left wing commentator’ that lies, distorts and exploits tragic events for political gain, then I would be equally unsympathetic.

I found it ‘interesting’ that the Carlson incident was found more worthy of starting a thread about than the murder of 12 innocents in California in the same week.

Or the fact that Christine Blasey Ford has had to move 4 times because she is still getting death threats because some people believe she lied to ruin a man's career.

Or the fact that April Ryan has had to hire a bodyguard because she has the audacity to be a black woman who asks the President difficult questions like 'are you a racist?'.

Or the fact that in the last two weeks, a total of 28 people have been killed by white men because they were women, or jewish, or black, or just because some angry white man with a gun decided that's what he was going to do.

Yet when a man who cozies up to a Alex Jones - who has led a misinformation campaign that has resulted in grieving parents being threatened and not being able to visit their children's graves - get's threatened, it's time for frothing outrage and is apparently proof that the left wing 'fascists' are violent psychos.

Carlson is another idiotic promoter of the idea that climate change is somehow not to do with human activity. Whether he does this disingenuously to make money, or whether he is so thick as to actually believe it is the question.

Some things are opinions, some aren't. Climate change isn't an opinion. Most people see comments defending those harassing parents of murdered children as not simply an opinion, but just wrong. People who make a living through the promotion of lies and deliberately inflammatory statements are increasingly raising the ire of well-informed citizens. We aren't talking about a debate over whether tax should be 20% or 18%, these are people actively sowing dissent, discord and making the world a better place for their own bank balances.

We are running out of time regarding climate change, and the idea that people can just spout absolute nonsense like Carlson, creates a very real tension between free speech and anti-social irresponsibility. I can never condone people using violence against people like Carlson, but I don't have a problem with people demonstrating at his house.
