fantasy setting video year 1

Discussion in 'Primary' started by pocoyo, May 16, 2011.

  1. I was wondering if there are any video clips for ks1 children to watch of fantasy settings that might give them inspiration for writing?
    Thank you :)

How about Fantasia? either the 1940 or the 2000 versions.
You should be able to find the clips on youtube, then download them to watch in school. There's lots of good settings there - night on Bare Mountain has a scary setting, The Firebird has a beautiful fairy spring setting, Pastorale has olympic clouds and mountains, etc.
You might be able to watch them online if you can access a website like www.tudou.com at school.
  3. In the past I have used the scene from the old version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where they enter the room that is entirely edible with the chocolate river... kids seemed to get a lot out of it... other wise if you are doing a space theme what about Wallace and Gromit... where they run out of cheese and go to the moon... ? have used that also!
