    Hi
Wanting a UK holiday for a family with an 8 year old and a 4 year old that's reasonably priced. Can't afford Centre Parcs and have done Haven holidays to death! Any ideas or suggestions appreciated! We're based on border of North Wales

Would you camp? It is a bit of an investment and quite a lot of work building up all the gear you needand has implications for the size of car you need but with the age of your children you'd get a good few years of fun - if you found it fun. it gave us weekends and short breaks we wouldn't otherwise have had but rented a cottage if we were going away for a week or more.

Have you had a look at Hoseasons? They have a variety of different accommodation. How far would you like to go? City break? Countryside? Coast?
Kids go free at a Premier Inn, and I've seen rooms for £22 recently. That's cheaper than a lot of camp sites.

Oh, and my friend swears by house swapping.
    There are websites for that.

cant name a specific hotel or B&B but head up to the north east of England, Sea houses, bamburgh. very scenic place, awesome beaches, quiet and not too touristy and lots of sights to see.

    North Yorkshire.
    The coast-Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, Filey.
Inland there is York-Railway Museum, Jorvik centre, Castle Museum, Minster, The Shambles. Plenty to see and do.
